This beautiful showstopper of a ring features a fiery and multicoloured changing oval opal cabochon on an 15ct gold shank. When the stone catches the light you can see a vast kaleidoscope of colors; sparks of purple, green and blue sit up at the top of the stone, lit by bright orange fire from its core. This very generously sized opal measures approximately 1.1cm x 7mm and is surrounded by 16 beautifully sparkly almandine garnets.
This fabulous ring weighs 3.95g, and is currently a UK size P 1 /2 (US size 7 3/4) but it could be re-sized up or down.
Opal is the birthstone for the month of October ... The name opal is thought to be derived from the Sanskrit upala, meaning “precious stone,” and later the Greek derivative “Opallios,” meaning “to see a change of color.” Opals have long been thought to encourage freedom, independence and creativity.
